It’s great when former staff members continue to carry a vision for reaching out to those in need, beyond their time with us at Salem. Recently, two of our friends in the city, Beate and Dina, both of whom worked for a number of years at Salem Social Village and with whom we currently continue to work in the social sphere, organised and ran at Salem Social Cafe a special event on International Women’s Day for mothers with families experiencing significant hardships.
The event included a programme of entertainment for the kids, a chance for the mothers to socialise and be treated with a few special things, a table covered with food and drinks, and a chance for each of the kids to say something to their own mothers on this day traditional for its wonderful greetings, speeches and wishes.
